Revenge and Reformation

Join SSO as they present two classics –  Stravinsky’s “Petroushka”, a classic tale of puppets that come to life and their ever-so-human feelings of unrequited love, jealousy, and revenge and Mendelssohn’s Symphony no. 5 “The Reformation”, presented in honor of the 500th anniversary of Martin Luther’s revolutionary act that began the Protestant Reformation, one of the most important events in the history of western culture.  Everything changed in the Reformation, including theology, church life, politics, economics, education, music, and the arts.
