Shasta Symphony Orchestra Celebrates Earth Day

Celebrate Earth Day with a fabulous concert of the Shasta Symphony, performing music related to ideas of our amazing planet.

Montana composer David Maslanka’s compositions are often filled with a child-like wonder and awe of the physical world around us; the SSO will explore these themes in his orchestral overture World Music, conducted by guest conductor Angela Holt from the Cincinnati Conservatory.

Rimsky-Korsakov creates vivid images of the sea and nineteenth-century ideas about global travel in his masterwork Scheherazade, featuring concert master Li-Yuan Ho.

A special highlight of this concert will be performances by the student winners of our Concerto & Aria Competition, soprano Sarah Meng and guitarist Sage Mitchell!

Tickets are $5/student with ID; $8/senior; $10/general.
