The Shasta Symphony will present it’s winter concert Friday February 19th 2016 at 7:30 pm at the Shasta College Theater. Tickets are available at the door–cash or check only. On-line sales have now closed. Please plan to arrive no later than 7:15 if you do not have tickets; please arrive by 7pm if your tickets are at will-call or you have Simpson University or musician comp tickets.
This concert will feature the symphonic masterwork Dvorak’s “Symphony no. 8”, a 40-minute tour-de-force for the orchestra. SSO principal bassoonist Dan Matthews will be featured in a new transcription of Saint-Saens’ “Sonata for Bassoon” for full orchestra. Charles Ives’ quirky “Country Band March” will open the concert with a flair of humor and wit.
The concert will be without intermission, and will conclude around 8:45, so plan an evening out with friends! Symphony first, then choose your favorite local establishment for dessert and festivities!
